Lot Title: Native American Ring and Necklace Set
Lot Number: 263
Description: This lot includes a simply gorgeous ring made by master Navajo goldsmith Tim Bedah (b.1945) of Gallup, N.M., featuring precision cut Lone Mountain turquoise cabs with a single round faceted diamond weighing approximately .08 ct., SI clarity, G color, at the top. The ring bears Mr. Bedah’s hallmark (T Bedah in script) as well as 14K. Ring size 5.75, 3.9 dwt. Also included is another Navajo treasure made in gold by Tim Bedah. Bearing the original black grease pencil price of the 1970s ($2895) and the handwritten notation of the artist (Tim Bedah, Navajo, 1970) this necklace would have been one of Mr. Bedah’s earlier pieces as there is no “stamped” hallmark on the necklace. Gold links, made to resemble natural gold nuggets lead down to three large panels of stamped gold holding a large amount of inlay work. Lone Mountain turquoise is mixed with Brown Jasper and Black Onyx to create the SUN FACE design at the bottom of the piece. The stones are precision cut and invisibly set in this rare piece of solid gold jewelry. Absolutely gorgeous, and if I am not mistaken, possible a ONE OF A KIND piece by the goldsmith. Length 16” with a bit of the dip at the center to allow for a nice drape when worn, 23.9 dwt.
