Description: Bert Davies Collection. Stark contrast between presentations fits the bill for a pair of "gem" Franklin half-dollars. Nearly astonishing, neon purple-grey and cobalt-green layer over both sides of 1951-S, distributed in a fascinating, powdery pattern that had to have been created from presence in an original mint set. The 1962-D flashes with intense brilliance, showing marvelous, original ivory-white color and patches of subtle olive toning. Superb strikes in either case for this two coin lot.
