Description: William Keller Collection. Fill two early slots in your album collection with one bid (plus a vise and safety goggles) if your intention is to focus on circulated coins with suitable sharpness. The 1917-S "obverse" features pale grey toning overall, and noticeably better detail than usual for this difficult variant. The appearance benefits from a lack of major contact marks. 1917-S "reverse" seems to be blatantly undergraded at XF-40, as meager champagne patina settles over the highly lustrous surface, and NGC must have mistaken the usual flat strike as wear. An excellent opportunity for the enterprising individual in this two coin lot.
