Description: Jewelled Claw Collection. Browning-1 was the die-marriage used to strike some amazing proof quarters, and even those show the very fine die cracks seen on the reverse of the present specimen, snaking through UNITED STATES and connecting the left wing, leaves and denomination. Rich toast-gold and frosty peach hues emerge from the surface and ensure the originality of this moderately lustrous example. Luster on the reverse seems more potent yet still slightly subdued by the lovely patina. The dies are rotated a bit clockwise, a common phenomenon for B-1.
