Description: Slightly glossy from a trivial old cleaning, the highpoints exhibit a bit of shiny texture, although this actually helps amplify overall visual sharpness. A full horn is obviously present, as anticipated of the XF-45 grade. But as always for these popular nickels, struck off of heavily stressed dies, neither side would be considered lustrous, showing instead some pronounced flowline texture, this being a slightly earlier striking for the variety. Silvery and a little bright on the obverse, the reverse enjoys fragile apricot-grey patina.
