Lot #: Go
Lot Title: 1914-S PCGS MS-65
Lot Number: 662
Description: Preceding its difficulties of the subsequent decade, the San Francisco mint proved in the teens that it was highly capable of producing beautiful quality 5-cent pieces for commercial use. The strike for this fabulous "gem" appears to be just about unimprovable, providing a full complement of rugosity within the bison's hide, and pinpoint details such as a fully upraised horn, complete splitting of the end of the tail, hooves with multiple layers of complexity, and full-relief peripheral lettering. Stray marks cannot be found on either side, not even on the bison's shoulder or on the Indian's cheekbone. A marvelous, lustrous example that will find no shortage of suitors.
