Description: Jewelled Claw Collection. 18 graded MS-66 RB, 1 slightly higher (MS-66 RB+) at NGC. "Open 3" is scarcer in high grade than the "closed 3" variant. This surface displays splendid, fiery brick-orange color overall, especially on the reverse where the fields display a plethora of die-polish lines, and therefore gleam with unusually attractive, original appeal. Flickers of reddish-brown patina settle upon the highpoints with just enough collective presence to warrant the "red-brown" designation. Overall, one might guess the surfaces to exude 50% mint red on the obverse, and 80% red on the reverse. A couple or so microscopic ticks escape into the field left of the date, and a sprinkling of similarly minute ticks spread out above the motto, and even in aggregate, these are befitting of the grade and not at all distracting. Predictably, as a proof striking preserved to a strong level, the pinpoint sharpness could not be better than what is shown here.
