Lot Title: 1941 and 1942 (six piece) Proof Set in Capital Plastics holders
Lot Number: 540
Description: Bright copper-orange emanates from the 1941 cent, suggesting a "red" color assessment, and the nickel seems to be a nice, placid example with bone-grey patina. All three silver pieces appear to be free from major hairlines, such that this ought to be a "gem" proof set. Despite modest hairlines, the 1942 cent shows modest crimson overtones, and both nickels are very well struck, although the copper-nickel example bears a couple of minor ticks. The dime and quarter seem to be particularly nice, while a minor toning spot shows on the half-dollar, suggesting a "very choice" grade for the 1942 set.

This lot may contain an item not certified by ANACS, PCGS, or NGC. While Scotsman Auction Co. is typically conservative in our descriptions of items not certified by one of these companies, we cannot guarantee our grading estimation will match their grade. We highly recommend that collectors seeking items certified by a third-party grading service only bid on items that have already been certified. No lot can be returned because of a variance in judgment with regards to grade.
