Lot Title: 1903-S PCGS MS-64 CACCAC
Lot Number: 457
Description: Ready To Retire Collection. 275 graded MS-64, 220 higher at PCGS. Normally, those population statistics would indicate a fairly common coin, but the report for grading incidents are heavily exaggerated for 1903-S because of the extremely large reward for getting any example upgraded by even half a point. Such upgrade efforts are the true sign of scarcity! Struck with meticulous attention to detail, even the central delineation meets near-perfect standards on either side, and that marvelous sharpness is but one of the best features of this beauty. Adding to the allure is the presence of some fiery orange toning that flares upward from Liberty's portrait, and then descends down the obverse right rim. The aesthetic effect is fantastic. Mostly delicate abrasions account for the grade, although one may notice a squarish scrape at the back of Liberty's jaw.
