Description: Bert Davies Collection. 1889-O has a well-deserved reputation for terrible strikes and poorly defined examples, which only makes it all the more appealing to find such an unusually well-struck and detailed example as this. Usage of a loupe will reveal very faint roller marks over ear, but far fewer than what is usually seen, and the eagle's breast feathers appear to fully delineated. Remarkable! Widely spangling, lustrous energy radiates with off-white illumination into the fields. An unexpectedly clean example that probably offers at least some upgrade potential.
