Lot #: Go
Lot Title: 1894-S, 1895-S, and 1898-S, as described
Lot Number: 931
Description: Tougher San Francisco issues comprise this 19th century offering, and each displays outstanding sharpness. We offer the following indications: 1894-S (XF, possibly lightly cleaned at some point but now showing presentable almond-tan and a light scratch on the cheek). 1895-S (AU/altered surface, showing indications of an old polishing event but now swathed in deep and unusual mulberry-cobalt overtones), and 1898-S (AU/improperly cleaned, but not terribly so, and now considerably retoned such that there is no excessive brightness). All in all, a very decent three coin lot.

This lot may contain an item not certified by ANACS, PCGS, or NGC. While Scotsman Auction Co. is typically conservative in our descriptions of items not certified by one of these companies, we cannot guarantee our grading estimation will match their grade. We highly recommend that collectors seeking items certified by a third-party grading service only bid on items that have already been certified. No lot can be returned because of a variance in judgment with regards to grade.
