Description: 29 graded MS-66, 10 higher at NGC. Ex-NGC 2037607-020 "Col. E.H.R. Green" where it was graded MS-65+. Eric Newman's hand-typed notes no longer accompany, but originally stated "1838 U.S. Dime / Large stars / Die break through stars. / Uncirculated with much proof surface". This description likely was written when the coin was in a much more brilliant state, but as it is now, exceptionally pretty violet-blue and lovely primrose toning now dominate. The coin has been exquisitely struck and count not be prettier for the (new) grade.
