Lot #: Go
Lot Title: 1904 PCGS PR-62
Lot Number: 604
Description: A blistering white, and virtually colorless specimen, the instant visual impact is that of a grade much higher than the PCGS PR-62 assessment. Blazing reflectivity and the low-contrast (virtually no-contrast, actually) strike format produce an inimitable flashing effect only really seen with proof Morgan dollars. Closer inspection allows the viewer to discover a number of tiny, light fluttering hairlines, but truth be told, they seem (to the cataloger) to be limited enough in scope to allow for a one point upgrade. The late proof dollars are not always as precisely struck as those of the 20th century, and therefore, one finds some softness over the ear. The eagle's breast feathers, while all present, do not feature the absolutely sharpness of earlier proofs. Shaded in faint almond-amber patina.
