Description: 880 graded MS-65, 131 higher at PCGS. VAM-11, Top 100 features the famous O/CC reverse, and can best be distinguished from the several other over-mintmark varieties by noting a fine die crack that connects the tops of UNITED STATES OF. Although the population report suggests availability at the "Gem" level, the point is to note how elusive the date is any higher (and of course, the population includes all VAMs lumped together). While the present example should never get into a higher graded holder, the cheek does appear relatively free from contact except for a few minute ticks, while the eagle's breast bears the presence of a handful of coin-to-coin marks. Brilliant white and blazing with attractive alabaster luster.
