Description: Hal Shawb Collection. VAM-9 in the reference is depicted with a light die crack through the date, so this may be an early die state, hence the semi-prooflike tendencies. The die chips in the bottom loops of "89" are plainly present, however, as is a vestige of the aforementioned die crack extending left from the top of "1". Nearly white and certainly lustrous, a number of abrasions on the cheek follow a few more in the obverse left field to suggest the grade. Slightly fewer contact marks affect the reverse, with the left and upper fields showing a few predictable abrasions. Original card and box included.
