Description: U.K. Lorgnettes Collection. S/S, and looking somewhat like a normal "S" repunched over a small "S". Formerly considered rare, discovery of a bag of 1909-S double eagles in Central America exploded the population, although Gems remain a bit elusive. This coin is nearly "Gem", showing abrasions mainly in the right field only, but also an unusually powerful strike and highly potent luster.
