Description: Gemini. 1 in PR-67CAM and only 6 higher at NGC. PCGS has 2 in 67-CAM and NONE higher. From an original mintage of only 100 coins, the proof version of the 1903 Gold dollar commemorating the Louisiana purchase is rare in all grades. The current lot sits near the top of the population census and has immensely impressive eye appeal that will make any observer immediately think, "WOW." This NGC PR-67 CAMEO example may be small in diameter, but its deeply reflective fields and frosted devices result in eye appeal that vastly outshines most larger coins. What is even more impressive is that even under magnification there are no marks or abrasions worth mentioning and one has to wonder what is holding it back from even higher grades. Lot viewing is highly recommended to take in the lovely orange toning and pristine surfaces. A coin that is destined only for the very finest gold registry set (ls).
