Lot #: Go
Lot Title: 1882 Shield nickel MS-62 CAC, and an 1890 Liberty nickel PR-65, both NGC
Lot Number: 985
Description: Andy Shelton Collection. Collector appeal: "steadfast". The 1882 nickel looks slightly undergraded at first glance, since the obverse shows choice luster and a lack of contact, but the reverse does seem slightly abraded upon further examination. Minimal contrast accompanies the proof 1890 nickel, although a fragile layer of opal-grey patina tends to downplay vibrancy, but it is a sharply struck and nicely preserved specimen. Two coin lot.

This lot may contain an item not certified by ANACS, PCGS, or NGC. While Scotsman Auction Co. is typically conservative in our descriptions of items not certified by one of these companies, we cannot guarantee our grading estimation will match their grade. We highly recommend that collectors seeking items certified by a third-party grading service only bid on items that have already been certified. No lot can be returned because of a variance in judgment with regards to grade.
