Description: Zodiac Consignment. 5 graded MS-65, zero higher at PCGS. NGC lists a single MS-66 example within its population report, but for a grade-rarity of this magnitude, quibbling over a single point above the gem level is hardly an exercise worthy of afterthought for any collector who isn't mindlessly enslaved to the pursuit of "points" in a registry set. Suffice it to say that the ample allure and highly pleasing visual appeal offered here should satisfy most anyone. Both sides offer lovely, velvet-soft luster that tends to diffuse the underlying frosty texture. Distinctive platinum-lilac coloration dominates the obverse, but cedes to some aquamarine ringlets that descend into the stars. Particularly attractive luster fills the reverse, colored by knockout jade-green and turquoise hue of unusual intensity. The luxurious strike completes all the requirements of a gem half-dollar.
