Description: Copper Clappers Caper Collection. 9 graded PR-67, 6 higher at PCGS. The first-year-of-issue barber quarter was saved in high numbers for both circulation strike and proof emissions, but as always, the population draws back dramatically beyond the superb gem level. To pronounced this as "superb" example merely understates reality, as the visual aspect benefits from the long-term acquisition of extremely attractive color. Gleaming chartreuse-coral surrounds the obverse, evolving into brilliant orange, cobalt and violet-jade toward the portrait, which itself is frosted in matte grey. The reverse has become fully draped in plum-green and ocean-blue. A dead lock for "cameo" if not for a modest break in the mint frost around the ear.
