Description: Copper Clappers Caper Collection. 27 graded PR-65 CAM, 32 higher at PCGS. Were there a color designation for the copper-nickel Indian cents, this example would unquestionably be called "RD", as the blazing flame-orange hue precisely imitates that of a freshly struck, bronze example. Gently contrasted devices just attain the "cameo" designation, as fine, matte texture layers over the portrait and wreath and draws the eye away from the brilliant fields. Even the proof cents of the era were prone to some inconsistency of strike, but not so here, as every possible vestige of sharpness has been impressed by the dies.
