Lot Title: 1802 S-241 No Stems PCGS MS-64 CACCAC
Lot Number: 628
Description: Zodiac Consignment. Sheldon-241 represents an abundant die-marriage, but it is very popular due to the blundered fraction bar on the reverse, as well as the missing stems and wildly repunched final "S" in STATES. Completely unexpected, roving luster windmills around both sides of this almost-immaculate example - unexpected because early copper with "brown" patina tends to sport thinner luster than coins with less patina. Nevertheless, the surface here shines with lovely steely bluish-brown iridescence over an occasional hint of orangish-brown peeking out in a few places. Maybe a handful of dash-shaped ticks float lazily across the obverse and seem to be the only noticeable signs of contact on this side, as the visible portion of both rims seem practically contact-free. One razor-thin hairline appears at 10:00 of the reverse.
