Description: 289 graded MS-63, 66 higher at PCGS. Recognized as a distinctly difficult grade-sensitive issue within the silver dollar series, 1897-O requires little introduction for the Morgan Dollar enthusiast. An unexpectedly decent strike (for 1897-O) failed to bring up only the central curl, as even the eagle's breast feathers at least appear to be reasonably delineated. Liberty's cheek might display a couple more abrasions than usual for the choice grade level, but atypical for the date, there is plenty enough mint frost and sheening luster to satisfy the new owner.
