Lot #: Go
Lot Title: 1882-CC PCGS MS-60
Lot Number: 305
Description: 9 graded MS-60, 70 higher at PCGS. Make no mistake about it, the 1882-CC is rare in any uncirculated grade, and the tally of examples above MS-60 absolutely must be littered with upgrade attempts, because one seemingly never sees the date in a legitimate mint-state grade. And while the MS-60 grade assigned here is the perfect compromise between the unworn surface, yet fairly prolific abrasions seen on both sides, the gold coin "upgrade specialist" mantra is that "no coin stays in an MS-60 slab". Expect to see this one in a slightly higher grade at some point in the future. Soft buttercup-yellow mint frost infuses the obverse, while the reverse features no-question prooflike character.
