Description: Fans of the series know that the 1936-D virtually always presents with poor luster relative to contemporary issues, and very scarce is the example with attractive luster. Such is the case here, as booming cartwheels are on par with the reliably brilliant Philadelphia emissions. Fresh dies can undoubtedly be thanked for this benefit, as the strength of the strike can be determined by how the obverse extreme right rim shows a knifelike edge. A great example of the date!
