Lot Title: 1917-S Type 1 PCGS MS-64FH
Lot Number: 794
Description: This is the pair of dies sometimes seen with a tiny raised dot on the reverse, just right of the exact center. Further, given the "FH" designation, these dies were obviously fresh as the coin was struck, since every single vestige of definition was brought up to extreme precision. The eagle's eye very definitely displays a sculpted pupil, and the observe can easily see every pinpoint detail at Liberty's head. An exceedingly original example, both sides are draped in gorgeous platinum-blonde patina, as if the coin had been plucked out of a decades-old mint-set holder.
