Lot #: Go
Lot Title: 1937-D 3 Legged PCGS MS-62
Lot Number: 667
Description: 391 graded MS-62, 607 higher at PCGS. It has been established that a gentleman named Mr. Young, a new employee at the Mint, was under pressure to press the reverse die into production in order to satisfy his quota, and in haste to prepare the die, he used an emery stick with excessive aggressiveness and ground one of the bison's legs almost completely off. The obverse of this example could easily meet MS-64 standards, while the reverse nearly does so except for an easily missed, light scratch descending from the bison's belly;.
