Lot #: Go
Lot Title: 1918/7-D PCGS VG-10
Lot Number: 658
Description: Unusually attractive, smooth honest wear accounts for 100% of the grade determination, since this highly appealing key variety shows virtually no sign of contact. It's tough to imagine a more attractive bison nickel at the VG-10 grade, strange as that may sound. Easily half of the horn detail shows on the reverse, testifying to a strong argument for upgrade to 'fine', and both sides retain considerable flowline texture. A coin need not be 'high grade', or feature crazy toning to qualify for the Scotsman Cataloger's Choice Award, as any highly charged combination of eye-appeal and visceral reaction is sufficient impetus for the award. This is the peculiar case of a coin at a humble, honest grade that has the strong pull of a famous variety making the argument for a very strong bid.
