Lot #: Go
Lot Title: 1924-S PCGS MS-64RD
Lot Number: 562
Description: 87 graded MS64 RD, 11 higher at PCGS. For the 1924-S cent, "grade" may be less important than "color", as very few truly red examples are known -- at least in terms of original examples. The shimmering, deep cherry-red color is dead-on accurate and pure in this case, at least in the cataloger's opinion. It is true that innumerable tiny greyish pepper-flecks will be found on both sides, but these merely accentuate the opinion that the surface is original, and at arm's length, they cannot be seen at all. Sharpness is on-par with any typical example, showing bluntly struck motifs and the usual blurring of overall detail.
