Lot #: Go
Lot Title: 1914-D PCGS XF-45BN
Lot Number: 558
Description: Terrific detail will obviously be the hallmark for this key Lincoln cent example, as the bowtie and lower beard reveal a majority of the intended definition. Wheat stalks display perfectly bold lines and individual kernels. Ash-brown patina tends to dominate, although flickers of lighter sienna steal into the protected areas of the obverse. The reverse appears to have been curiously abraded at some point, such that innumerable microscopic areas penetrate the brown patina and reveal bare orange metal underneath. A single contact point at the back of the lapel is the only disturbance worthy of mention.
