Lot #: Go
Lot Title: 1917 $1 McKinley PCGS MS-66
Lot Number: 159
Description: Resounding eye-appeal should be a near-impossible achievement for such a small coin, but this amazing gem succeeds where other coins of such diminutive dimensions might fail. An extremely attractive halo of vibrant, electric-blue shimmers within the outer fields of the obverse, dropping in from the rim as if Aurora Borealis had been briefly manifested by the dies and imparted upon the planchet. But amazing aesthetics are only part of the story, as this technical jewel reveals an exceptional degree of vintage preservation, showing no contact marks at all, and only an occasional hairline. An obvious candidate for the Scotsman Cataloger's Choice Award, and a truly fortunate discovery for the lucky collector of toned gold coins.
