Description: Waldo Clemons Collection. While members of the famous matte proof Lincoln series are known to tone in extraordinary, and sometimes even bizarre colors, something seems a bit "off" for this violet-magenta example, hence the NGC "altered color" descriptor. Nevertheless, one cannot fault the exquisitely well-preserved surface, which shows so few marks that gem consideration would be in the works... if not for the odd color. Exquisitely struck, as always.
