Based on tracing adjacent serial numbers, one might suspect a cache of these Sedalia tens was found and dispersed at some point in the distant past. Now, collectors have an opportunity to obtain this example that boasts razor-sharp signatures and superb margins. • Decidedly not prooflike as are many 1888 nickels, this example also displays sensational luster and fewer marks than expected of the grade. Slidemarks on the lowest part of the neck may have barred gem consideration at CACG.
