  • China - 1992 1oz Gold Inventions and Discoveries Compass coin, 100 Yuan, NGC PF-68 Ultra Cameo
  • World Coins-China
  • 1992 gold 100-yuan, mintage: 1,000. Scarce, low-mintage coin which seems to have difficulty seating properly within the NGC capsule. Difficult as it is to examine a superb proof within a slab, there does appear to be a few wispy hairlines that determine the grade, though it is unclear what level of die polish is responsible for some of the fragile lines. The reverse displays a couple of microscopic copper spots as well. NGC serial number 3388787-002.

  • Lot #919 - 1909-S VDB Lincoln PCGS MS-65RB CAC
  • Hammer: $3,700
  • Small Cents-Lincoln, Wheat
  • The obverse warrants a full red designation all by itself while partial woodgrain toning on the reverse has acquired a fair degree of copper-brown coloration. Three thin, linear abrasions beneath "NT" are worthy of note only as grade limiters. Exquisitely struck and showing the kind of surface quality on the obverse that often pulls in a point higher grade.

  • Bucky The Badger Consignment. Various shades of reds, browns, and purples cling to the uncirculated surfaces of all five examples within this group lot of Indian Head cents. Three of the five examples are PCGS certified and includes an 1862 MS-62, an 1885 MS-64BN, and a 1901 MS-64RB. There are two remaining NGC certified issues that includes an 1894 MS-63BN and a 1902 MS-65RB. While each of these are more than adequate for their assigned grades, the 1902 has a royal purple splash that makes it stand out from the crowd (ck)!
