Type II / II. A favorite as the first proof-only date within the series, the 1879 was struck to the tune of 1541 pieces. While some milky haze rests over most of the surface, a fairly narrow band of interesting album toning layers inward from the rims. A touch of cameo contrast shows on either side.

From Tiffany’s Black Box Collection, here’s a custom made 14K yellow gold and black onyx tie tack/tie pin. In a circular design, the original clutch is also present. Inscribed jewelers mark of 46111. Somewhere in the Tiffany Archives, the company knows exactly who this piece was designed for and when it was made. Cool thought! This piece comes with the orginal box. Excellent condition. Dimensions: .35” x .35”, 1.9 dwt with the clutch.
