49 graded AU-58, 27 higher at PCGS. A single reed mark on the cheek provides by far the most obvious sign of contact since the balance of either side remains unexpectedly free from marks -- remarkable for the issue. Much like the preceding 1851-O, these early New Orleans issues are not extremely rare within the AU grades but become virtually impossible to locate in UNC.

Grand National Collection. An odd pairing puts a silver dollar up against a cent equivalent for this PCGS lot. First is 1934 dollar (L&M-110, KM#624), typically lustrous and showing only average marks beneath pale pearl-white patina. Accompanying is a not-often-seen China-Taiwan 1949 chiao, KM#Y-531, burning with flame-red color and luster while minute flecks of olive-brown shower either side. Two coin lot.

Dating back to the early 1900’s or so, here’s a 14K yellow gold pin composed of a beautifully pale polished oval cabochon translucent agate. The agate is held in place by a bezel setting with swirly claws and four small accent diamonds. Dimensions 1.60” x 1”, 5.3 dwt.
