Plainly in the wheelhouse of the common working-man collector is this trio of approachable mint-state quarter-eagles. Included are: 1908 (subdued yellow-gold with a slightly deficient strike), 1909 (extremely deep orange hue with odd gunmetal accents), and 1912 (friction on the highpoints against a bit of two-toned patina). The cataloger has seen only one other example and the signatures here are distinctly stronger than expected. Keota National Bank issued only 657 sheets of third charter datebacks, only to go out of business three years later.
