  • Lot #820 - 1875-S BU
  • Hammer: $825
  • Twenty Cents Pieces-Liberty Seated
  • Cochrane Gambit Consignment. FS-302, 1875-S/S misplaced date. Cataloger's grade: [MS-61]. Always the favored type for the 20-cent piece due to a bountiful mintage over a million pieces, some intrigue plays into a few varieties such as the present misplaced date, plainly showing the top of a "7" within the denticles far below corrected placement. Wispy traces of album toning on the rim join predominant honey-gold hues that spill well into the fields.

  • Lot #510 - 1873 Open 3 PCGS MS-61
  • Hammer: $2,500
  • Gold $20-Liberty Head Double Eagle
  • Heavily abraded on the obverse and moderately so on the reverse. "Open 3" is known as the most common of all type-2 double-eagles, this example replete with frosty luster and vintage surfaces.
