M. J. Shole Collection. Type II / II. Obviously original almost to an extreme degree, dense iron-grey patina occupies virtually the entire surface, avoiding trace areas of shimmering, lustrous effect immediately against the devices. A delicate pinscratch in the obverse left field has blended in with that overarching patina. An extremely well detailed example.

Where do we draw the line? This is a very attractive group lot of twelve NGC "no line" holder coins that includes the following eight MS-67 war-time Jefferson nickels: a 1942-S, a 1943-P, a 1943-S, a1944-P, a 1944-D, a 1944-S, a 1945-P, and a 1945-D. The final four pieces of this numismatic puzzle includes an 1882 MS-63 Morgan dollar, 1n 1897 MS-64 Morgan dollar, an 1945-D Walking Liberty half-dollar, and a 1937-S Buffalo nickel. While each of these appear to be very conservatively graded, the toning of the 1882 Morgan stands out from the crowd (ck).
