  • Ba-Ga Maidi Collection. KM#372. A very low mintage of 2250 pieces has still managed to yield some gem quality survivors, but this is an outstanding and virtually non-abraded coin with only a few trivial nicks toward the front of the cheek. Exquisite neon blue iridescence drapes from the upper left to lower right and surrounds portions of the reverse.

  • Lot #505 - 1868-S NGC AU-50 (no line)
  • Hammer: $3,200
  • Gold $20-Liberty Head Double Eagle
  • As usual for double-eagles of the era, mint-state examples are prohibitively rare, placing undue pressure on AU examples. Substantial luster emanates from this beautifully dandelion-yellow tinted coin, with the reverse looking very close to UNC.
