  • Lot #843 - 1834 NGC MS-64
  • Hammer: $1,050
  • Half Dimes-Capped Bust
  • LM-2 shows nice repunching at "OF" on the reverse and in the present die-state, a chip entirely occupies the upper loop of the second "S" in STATES. Frequently chosen for type purposes due to availability, the added allure for some collectors of sheer white brilliance makes this a shoo-in at a reasonable price level as well. Gleaming aluminum-white shimmers from the surface joining a terrific strike, with the grade plainly determined by a handful of brief but rather sharp abrasions on the bust.

  • Pacific Coast Highway Collection. KM#279 and struck upon Friedrich I's death. Sensational eye-appeal differs from side to side as the satin-laden obverse displays gorgeous chartreuse-green and peach-gold hues. The reverse offers finely frosted texture that glows with apricot-gold in the centers surrounded by deeper russet-gold hues near the rim.
