  • Lot #821 - 1796 NGC VF-25
  • Dimes-Draped Bust
  • JR-6, R.3. A small break crosses over "7" in the date, next to a radial crack that projects upward along the left side of "9", and these are joined by additional cracks, especially radial cracks in the upper left obverse. Sharpness may slightly exceed VF-25 yet most likely, NGC settled on a five point demerit due to old, modest cleaning that now shows as trivial gloss across the surface. Fortunately, old toning and dirt remain within protected areas. A small, curiously machine-like abrasion shows to the right of the final star.

  • Minimal peach-grey toning adorns the surface and may be attenuating luster slightly, but in no way does the coin suffer negative eye-appeal. A couple or so stray reedmarks can be found lower in either obverse field while the reverse offers modestly better preservation by comparison.

  • Circa 1960/1970, this sterling silver (tested, not marked) and turquoise squash blossom necklace features 10 blossoms set between seamed beads and an 8-stone Naja at the bottom. The design of the piece is mostly original with a slight twist on modernism. The turquoise used in the making appears to be from the Cripple Creek mine. Condition is very nice for its age with a vintage patina to the metal. Unsigned piece so tribal affiliation is unknown. Length 28”, 5.78 troy ounces.
