  • Lot #509 - 1873-CC NGC XF-45 (no line)
  • Gold $20-Liberty Head Double Eagle
  • Cheddars de Voirs Collection. Mintage: 22,410. Surprisingly strong luster remains prevalent on both sides, cheerfully illuminating bright dandelion-yellow and golden orange hues. The reverse plainly has claims to at least AU-50 all by itself. Typical abrasions scatter widely across either side, joined by a few bolder marks left of Liberty's mouth and flung right of the hair knot. Housed in a much older no-line holder, one can have confidence that this appealing, vibrant coin has remained unaltered for at least a few decades.

  • A slightly subdued appearance undoubtedly derives from finely matte-textured surfaces that seemingly retain no luster. The obverse showcases exceptionally sharp definition while the reverse may not quite reach the same level of sharpness over a couple of leaves toward the left. Honey-brown overall and showing darker inflections here and there on both sides.

  • Hammer: $320
  • Jewelry-Silver
  • Circa 1960/1970, this overly large sterling silver (tested, not marked) and chrysocolla squash blossom necklace features 10 blossoms set between seamed beads and a 7-stone Naja at the bottom. With an overly bold design, the stone used in the making emulates a darker grade of turquoise than usually found in this type of necklace. Condition is very nice for its age with a vintage patina to the metal. Unsigned piece so tribal affiliation is unknown. Length 26”, 8.40 troy ounces.
