Technically, 1879-S is not a scarce date but obviously, the set collector will be hard-pressed to locate a stronger candidate for a registry. Overall light hairlining limits the grade.

That moniker fits as both sides shine with profound frosted white luster, aside from brief areas of orange rim toning. The reverse appears to be flawless, aside from a modestly deficient strike off of a failing die, while the obverse shows a tiny hairline abrasion in the upper right field.
