The Trade silver dollar is among the shortest-lived series of coins to ever be issued by the United States Mint and that creates a supply shortage that is easily noticed by any collector of the type. There are nine examples of this short-lived series in this group lot that includes the following: an 1876 (AU details, cleaned), 4x 1877 (XF), 3x 1877-S (XF details, cleaned), and an 1878-S (F). And they may be listed as: ca 1917 "elder issue", Delorey-102 struck in brass (MS-63, delicate pesting of either side but smoothly lustrous, and also not assigned as inferred by the blank reverse), 1863 Civil War Token 240/337 (MS-65 BN, but showing noticeable splashes of crimson red within the confines of luminous cobalt toning, all wrapped up in lovely frosted texture), 1863 Advertising Token 345aA-1a (MS-62 BN, inadequately struck off of the usual shattered dies yet still features ample frosted luster).
