Included are: BG-727 (astonishingly high grade and blatantly prooflike), BG-728 (drenched in curiously lackluster greenish hue and unusually well struck), and BG-872 (rather outstanding citrus-gold on the obverse and lemon-yellow on the reverse with semi-prooflike reflectivity). 54 graded MS-66, 10 higher at NGC. As the 24th state admitted to the Union, the mint denoted that status on an apparent minority with "2x4" stamped into the obverse left field. And as a result of lower mintage combined with generally mediocre quality for the type, a very-gem example like this is a welcome option over the usual lackluster examples on the market. This coin features superb, original platinum-tan coloration throughout, surrounded by a hint of deeper russet-gold. Fewer than a handful of trivial nicks on the cheek and some brief, faint hairline abrasions across the shoulder appear to be the extant of contact.
