Lot #873 - 1803 100/000 PCGS VF-25
Large Cents-Draped Bust
Sheldon-249, 100/000 fraction, and apparently die state II with the "mumps" die defect attached to Liberty's jaw. From a commercial standpoint, sharpness may be slightly better than VF-25, this offset by a rather generous helping of small circulation marks strewn across the obverse. Decent eye appeal unfolds on both sides due to much nicer powder-chocolate patina that shows remarkably few distractions other than those abrasions.

Clem Stevens Collection. The faintest possible whisper of honey visits the fields, but overall, the coin shines with white brilliancy. A few stars and the eagle's claws lack precision, possibly because the coin was struck from slightly clashed dies.
