  • Lot #595 - 1880/79-O NTC/as described
  • Hammer: $1,250
  • Silver Dollar-Morgan
  • VAM-4, Top-100. Cataloger's grade ESTIMATE: [MS-64+] and an astounding find within an NTC slab, as the obverse fully grades gem (the caveat being that the cataloger saw the coin "through the plastic" and without examining the edge), while nicks and abrasions in the reverse right field may limit the grade. A small, abraded area above Liberty's portrait also requires mention. While a thin blanket of almond-grey blankets the surface, some orange toning on the rims deftly sets off outstanding semi-cameo eye-appeal.
