  • Lot #289 - 1936-M Roosevelt & Quezon MS-65, and a 1936-M Murphy & Quezon MS-65+, both NGC
  • Hammer: $1,100
  • Philippine Issues-Philippine Issues
  • Ga Ha Ha Consignment. Philippines issues rank high amongst U.S. collectors despite them being considered world "coins" struck at the Manila mint, and each surviving an original emission of 10-thousand struck. First is 1936-M Roosevelt & Quezon, KM#177, taken off of lightly clashed dies and utterly blistering with bright, silvery luster and pristine appeal. Accompanying is 1936-M Murphy & Quezon, KM#178, phenomenally original under velvety steam-grey patina but showing one lengthier abrasion in the reverse left field. Two coin lot.

  • Lot #871 - 1909-S VDB Lincoln PCGS MS-64RB CAC
  • Hammer: $2,900
  • Small Cents-Lincoln, Wheat
  • Growth Collection. There was a phase about ten years ago when MS-64 RB was considered "best" for the 1909-S VDB in terms of bang for the buck, and perhaps that holds true today. This example certainly seems on the verge of a red designation as either side gleams with 85% of the vintage brick-orange hue. Interestingly, this key cent was possibly struck off of a very slightly clipped planchet, since what appears to be a trio of tiny rim dings at first glance prove, upon closer inspection, to be almost certainly as-struck. An exceptionally detailed Lincoln cent with virtually no disturbances that would meaningfully preclude higher grade consideration.
