Gold $5-Indian Head Half Eagle
45 graded MS-65, 5 higher at NGC. Nearly in the discussion for finest-known status, the quality seen here maximizes the appeal of devastating metallic mint luster and fabulous, bright golden color. A small nick in the reverse upper right field denies even further upgrade while the obverse displays merely a whiff of roll friction on the cheekbone. An example that will prove near impossible to improve upon.

It's tough to imagine a prettier example at the numeric grade level although NGC's "plus" at least draws attention to the superior quality. A truly delightful example of a very common date Saint.
